Wow.  It had been so long since I'd posted on here that I actually forgot where I was supposed to go to do it.

Lots of stuff's changed since I last posted.  Jeremy's moved to VA, Beth's moved to FL, and we've just moved period....to another house.  I've been busy with work and school, as always, frequently being frustrated by the incompetence of a bureaucratic institution such as the University.  It's so hard to get anything done because you constantly have to be chasing after everyone to make sure that all the paperwork and stuff actually gets where it's supposed to go and doesn't get lost in some pile of papers on someone's desk.  And I hate it when I don't get paid on time.   I also hate it when other people are depending on me to get them paid, and because of someone else'e mistake, I'm not able to do that.

But...my whining aside....things have been going ok.  Only one more semester to go.  Then...3 more years of law school, if that works out.  We'll see.  Not that I'm creating a 3-year plan for my life in this post....but....you know.

Dear Xanga,

I've forgotten about you pretty much.  Please forgive me.

Back from Austin. UT Law School is pretty awesome. It wasn’t as big as I expected, but that might be because I’m a moron. The people are really cool too. It’s probably #2 on my list of law schools to go to, right after any decent one from VA, preferably UVA.

At any rate, the whole trip was a blast. I got to know a bunch of people from Pre-Law better than I had. We had so much fun literally laughing until we couldn’t breathe. I love times like that.

On the way back, we stopped at UTSA at the Law School Fair thing they had going on there. There were a LOT of schools represented, and I got a bunch of info and stuff to check on.

Quotes from the trip that won’t make any sense to any of you:

"God loves me!…Now He doesn’t."

"That’s not kosher."

"They’re obviously…."

"You guys!!!"

"Saltwater pig…."

"Squeaker and Cage-fighter...."

Here's the group....in front of Lady Justice at UT Law School......

And here we are in the jury's seats......

Can you find me?

Not that anyone cares but on the front row from l to r it's: Art, Sylvia, Sam, Justin, and Emily.  The back row l to r is Yolanda, Ellen, Jamie, Josue, some chick doing this Xanga, and Osiris.

List of things to stress about:

1). (first only b/c it’s coming up sooner) Con Law mid-term on  Thursday

2). LSAT Dec. 3

I went to apologize to my professor, Dr. P., about missing his class last night (very long story).  I think he noted my stressing, and that was the reason he  gave me his "life rules:"

1). If it's not right, don't do it.

2). If it's not true, don't say it.

3). Never get in a situation where you can't take 2 hours of your day and go do something you want to.

4). No matter what, there are always going 100,000 Chinese in China who couldn't care less what you do.

I don't know whether these are sure keys to success or not, but they sound good and the last one made me laugh, so I guess it's all good.

And he wasn't mad.

So that was good too.

Back to the lake.  The ducks and water, especially at night, have a great calming effect.  I also discovered that at night they turn the fountain on and have lights on it.  Very cool looking.

"Crooked souls trying to stay up straight.
Dry eyes in the pouring rain.
The shadow proves the sunshine.
The shadow proves the sunshine."

Ever felt like you were in the middle of a crowd of people all screaming at you to be and do a million different things and if you hear one...more...piece... of information you'll just explode?
Yeah, I know.

Probably not.

It's hard to try to be an example all the time.  You can't just throw a fit and be mad or depressed or petulant or show whatever other childish emotion you feel when you feel like it, because if you do, you reinforce the bad that some tend to think about Christians, pushing them even further away.  Not that I'm a great example or that I try to be a role model for anyone.  And I don't mean to sound like a hypocrite by not giving in to whatever I feel.

But I feel somewhat responsible.

I want what I say I believe to be evident by how I live my life.  I want people to see that what I have is real, that just because someone says they believe in and live for God, doesn't mean that he/she hates everyone else.
I want to be different....not excusing or agreeing, but loving.

I don't want people to look at Regina and see just a nice person.
I want them to look at me and see Jesus.

Wow, guys.  I know this is way more serious that my usual lighthearted posts.  It was just what I felt like posting tonight.

 Blame it on the ducks.
